Welcome to Artistic and Holistic.

Gathering insights on a holistic approach to dance and the art of life.

Each time we place our hands on a ballet barre an opportunity is given to uncover more that lies within and around us. It is a way to reset, go within, and gain perspective for the day ahead.  I hope this blog allows space for that same ‘back to the barre’ mindset. A place to grow your understanding and open your mind to all the ways art infiltrates our lives. Recently, there has been a growing awareness around caring for our bodies and minds, from the most efficient warm up to the uses of aromatherapy around performing. Whilst this information is amazing, (if you’re anything like me) the task of filtering through it can be rather daunting. With perfectionism seeming to go hand and hand with dance, we’re often anxious to make sure we are bringing the absolute best practices into our routine; ones that will see true, long term benefits, and not just ‘fads’ that end up doing more harm than good (we’ve all been there). This blog will take you inside the minds of industry bests from every avenue that could possibly affect dance. You’ll find interviews with yoga instructors, physios, chiropractors, costume designers, essential oil experts, performers themselves… and oh so much more. In the immortal words of Cady Heron “the limit does not exist”. Hence, eliminating the need for endless scrolling, filtering, and data checking; it will all be done for you! I’m so excited to see where this platform goes, and sincerely hope you always find it a safe space to grow artistically and holistically. In the inspiring words of Helena Bonham Carter “I think everything in life is art. What you do, how you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality, what you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks, and the way you feel. Life is art”.

Thank you for allowing me this space to bring a little more art into my life, may you be inspired to do the same.
